Officials with Kawartha Downs have released some details in regard to the track’s upcoming season of live harness racing.
Kawartha Downs will open its 2016 season of live harness racing on May 28 and will continue to offer live racing every Saturday night until October 1 (with the exception of September 17 when it hosts a NASCAR event). First-race post time every Saturday is 7 p.m.
The track will be open for training every Monday and Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting on April 25. The exception will be the weeks before and after the NASCAR event when training will be available on September 12 and 13 and September 21 and 22 respectively.
The first set of schooling races will be held on May 18 at 11 a.m. The second will be held following qualifying races on May 21 which begin at 11 a.m. Qualifying races will then be held every race night (except October 1) at 4:30 p.m.
Schoolers will also be held June 1, 15 & 29, July 13 & 27, all at 11 a.m.
