Unique awards, a full video production, great food, music, and incredible guests combine to make the O’Brien Awards one of the most anticipated annual events for horse people in Canada.

This year, The Hilton Mississauga / Meadowvale, (formerly the Delta Meadowvale) is the venue for the 27th edition of the O’Brien’s and this year, guests will enjoy the delectable culinary creations of the host hotel’s award winning Chef, Robert Davey.

Chef Davey was born on the West Coast of British Columbia. It was there, from his mother that he discovered the kitchen and all its possibilities. After several years of culinary experience on the West Coast of Canada, where he won numerous awards, he moved his family to Toronto where his expertise in transitioning hotels could be used at one of Hilton’s newest family members.

Chef Davey brings with him his trademark winter style of cooking which encompasses a focus on braised meats, hearty vegetables with rich delicate jus and sauces over a creamy garlic polenta. His passion is best expressed in his own words:

"Food to me is all about comfort and how it makes us feel. If a dish can stir up memories of a childhood spent around the table with your family, sharing the laughter and teasing, then I know I have succeeded in making the very best."

What’s on the menu you ask? Well, that’s something that’s revealed on the night of only so you’ll have to attend to find out! But here are a few photos from the taste testing so you can dream about dinner!
