Officials with Diamond Creek Farm have announced the details surrounding The Ultimate Dance Competition, a competition to name the farm’s first A Rocknroll Dance foal. The contestant that submits the winning name for the filly will win $10,000 in yearling credits.

Diamond Creek’s first A Rocknroll Dance foal, a filly out of Whetstone Hanover, arrived amid excitement and anticipation on Wednesday, February 25. She’s nameless, and soon to be famous!

Contestants can submit their name suggestions from now until March 14. Adam Bowden, owner of Diamond Creek Farm, will choose his 3 favourite names. Voting will open on Monday, March 16. All are welcome to submit their suggestions, and all will be welcome to vote on their favourite. The name with the most votes on March 20 at 5 p.m. wins.

“We’re hoping to put a spotlight on A Rocknroll Dance and his potential as a stallion, but I’m really looking forward to meeting the winner and seeing their excitement at having an extra 10 grand ($10,000) to spend at the sale,” said Bowden.

Rules:

  • All names must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on March 14, and voting will close at 5 p.m. on March 20.

  • Names must be USTA eligible, 18 characters or less, and not currently in use. You can check if your name is taken by clicking here.

  • Multiple submissions of the same name will be credited to the first person to submit the name. Diamond Creek will try to let contestants know if their name was already submitted, but cannot guarantee all duplicates will be caught. The best thing to do is submit more than one name, and submit early!
