Live racing will return to the Meadowlands Racetrack this Friday night (February 23), as the trotters and pacers will circle the mile oval 13 times.
It's another card packed with big fields and interesting matchups leading the parade, supported by the usual guarantees on the Pick 4s and 5 and the Super Hi 5 Jackpot carryover which is now well past the six-figure mark.
The program’s featured dash (Race 7) will showcase conditioned trotters battling for the winner’s share of a $15,000 purse. Half of the ten-horse field will head into the race off of a winning effort. The combatants are led by Meadows invader Neednorestrictions, who has strung together five straight wins at the western PA track for owner Trudy Hite and trainer Wayne Hite. Jim Pantaleano has been listed to drive Friday.
Neednorestrictions’ main rivals will begin from the far outside – Posts 9 and 10 in the handicap event. Scirocco Jacob (to be driven by Marcus Miller) triumphed in the class last week in a speedy 1:53.4 for trainer Greg White and owners Lewis and Kathleen Whitaker.
PL Ichabod skipped a week after his 1:54.4 score in the class on February 2. Tony Alagna conditions PL Ichabod for owner Jennifer Dalton and Eric Abbatiello will drive.
Post time for the Friday card will be 6:35 p.m.
