WEG's Macdonald Gets New VP Position

On Monday, December 5, the Woodbine Entertainment Group announced the appointment of Andrew Macdonald as the company's vice president of Strategic Initiatives

.

The newly-created position will report to the organization's president and CEO, Nick Eaves.

In this role, Macdonald will focus exclusively on leading WEG's various strategic initiatives, which will have significant impact on the company's business going forward.

"While the company has made some progress in these areas to date, this exclusive focus is needed in order to meet the needs of the business during this time of significant change in the horse racing industry," said Eaves.

Macdonald started with the company in 1994 and has been involved in many areas of the business. In addition to his most recent responsibilities for the company's Marketing, Broadcasting and Media Relations & Sponsorship departments, Macdonald has been very involved with the development of the HorsePlayer Interactive business, as well as the Champions Off-Track Wagering network.

The Marketing, Broadcasting and Media Relations & Sponsorship departments, which reported to Macdonald, will stay within WEG's racing division and report directly to Jamie Martin, the organization's executive VP of Racing.
