Tattersalls announced today that the deadline for entries for the Meadowlands January Select Mixed Sale has been extended to this Friday, December 6.
The annual mixed sale, which traditionally kicks off the new year of auctions, is slated for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 20, in the Meadowlands race paddock. It will feature racehorses along with broodmares, stallion shares and short yearlings.
“The holiday rush always seems to get people a few days behind, and with Thanksgiving falling late this year and Hanukkah alongside it, we thought it best to give consignors a bit more time to get their selling plans in order,” said sale manager David Reid.
Last year’s sale was topped by the 2011 Jugette winner Idyllic, who sold for $140,000. Sale grads from 2013 included Modern Family 4,1:51 ($266,422), who went on from the January Sale to capture the $100,000 Meadowlands Maturity and an elim of the Arthur Cutler Memorial.
