The Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame has announced that award winning photographer Dave Landry will be signing copies of the 2016 ‘So God Made a Racehorse’ calendar at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Friday, December 18.

The Hall of Fame will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2016. The calendar is based on So God Made a Racehorse, an editorial penned by Trot Magazine Editor Darryl Kaplan, which is a tribute to the racing industry’s tremendous equine athletes, and originally inspired by Paul Harvey’s ‘So God Made a Farmer.’ (For more, click here.)

Accompanying the poignant ode to racehorses are images of Standardbred and Thoroughbred Hall of Fame members, captured by Landry. Horses featured include Somebeachsomewhere, Jambalaya, Dance Smartly, Bettors Delight, Wando, Izvestia, Mystic Mistress, Dreamfair Eternal, Soaring Free, Kadabra, Rocknroll Hanover and Peteski.

Landry will be signing copies of the calendar at Western Fair on December 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Calendars can be purchased for $15.00 each, plus HST.

The high-quality, full-colour calendar measures 12.5”x9.5” (opens to 12.5”x 19”) and is the perfect stocking stuffer for any horse enthusiast – it would also make an ideal gift for your favourite groom, blacksmith or farm staff.

In addition to the December 18 event in London, the calendar may be purchased through the CHRHF Online Gift Shop or at the following locations:

• Greenhawk Standardbred at Woodbine, Toronto, ON
• Tackmaster Equipment, Campbellville, ON
• System Tack, Rockwood, ON or Sarah Scott
• Elite Equine, Guelph, ON ([email protected])
• Wellingtons Tack, Waterdown, ON

Proceeds from the sale of the calendars support the ongoing efforts of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame to preserve and honour the almost-250-year history of horse racing in Canada.
