Thomas Malibashka, 68, of Cream Ridge, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, November 23 after a battle with cancer.

Born in Manhattan, Malibashka moved to Freehold, NJ when he was young, and that is where his interest in horses began. He became a resident of Cream Ridge in 1979, when he and his wife, Mique, started Camelot Farm. It was on the farm that they raised their children, Stacie and Brett, and Thomas enjoyed a long career as a Standardbred owner and trainer. He retired in 2001, but still actively managed the farm.

Malibashka spent his spare time with his family and enjoyed time at the beach, in particular.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mique; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Gus Wedin; daughter and son-in-law, Stacie and Howard Mintz; and grandchildren, Rachel Mintz, Jessica Mintz, Brian Mintz and Anderson. He was preceded in death by his son, Brett.

Malibashka was an avid reader, so memorial contributions may be made to the Allentown Public Library, P.O. Box 383, Allentown, NJ 08501.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the family and friends of Thomas Malibashka.
