The fall racing schedule hits full stride this weekend with harness racing cards Saturday and Sunday afternoon at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park.

First-race post time for both programs is 12:30 p.m.

Looking To ‘Do Some Damage’ Saturday; Drive For Charity Presentation To Take Place

Doing Some Damage has drawn the rail in the Saturday afternoon top class for driver Corey MacPherson, trainer Trevor Hicken and owner Kent Livingston, Cornwall. The seven-year-old is coming off a fourth-place in the mud at Summerside last week and steps up to take on Clic K, owned by Plo stables, Donagh, PE, who is listed as the 5-2 morning line favorite. Marc Campbell will do the driving for trainer Jackie Matheson. Campbell is having another great season, as he has racked up 117 wins at Charlottetown heading into the program. He broke the all-time wins title on December 10, 2011 with 119 victories and ended the 2012 campaign with a new season benchmark of 130 trips to victory lane. Campbell is potentially on a record setting pace to reach his 2012 milestone with 12 cards remaining on the 2016 calendar.

The feature also has Motorino with trainer Terry Gallant in the bike for his co-owner Eric Johnston, Summerside, PE. The black pacer, who has great gate speed, put in a big trip last week from Post 8 and will get to rally from Post 4 in Saturday’s match-up. The field also includes heavy hitters such as Forever Paradise (to be driven by Michael McGuigan), DBS Rosco (Kenny Arsenault), First Art Down (Ken Murphy), Rash B Havior (Gary Chappell) and Perfect Escape (Ron Matheson).

Mr MacLeod is favoured to win the Joyriders Pace in Race 7 for MacPherson, trainer Kyle Wilkie and owner Mallory Lewis, St Peters Bay, PE. The annual Drive for the Charity will come to a close on Saturday, as trackside cheque presentations will be made to local charities by the participating business sponsors and drivers. The ceremony will be held after Race 2.

DGs Camme To Look For Third Straight Win

DGs Camme will take aim at his third win in a row during Sunday afternoon’s feature (Race 9). The Jackie Matheson trainee, owned by driver Ron Matheson, Tom Clark, Quentin and Hal Bevan, Charlottetown, PE, has recorded eight scores from 15 starts this season and has banked close to $30,000 in earnings. The son of Blissfull Hall will start from Post 5 against Painted Desert (Adam Merner), Drivingthedragon N (Jason Hughes), Ramblinglily (Ken Murphy) and Eagle Jolt, who also has back-to-back victories. Regular pilot Marc Campbell has booked off his drives Sunday to attend the Harrisburg Mixed Sale in Pennsylvania, so young Ryan Desroche has received the driving assignment from the boss.

Conditioner Jennifer Trainor of Vernon Bridge has two stable stars riding win streaks on the card. Santanna Sam will be looking for his fourth win in a row in Race 7, while Cheyenne Ford will take his three-race win streak into Race 13. Michael McGuigan has received the call to drive.
