Pacing Stallions Needed In New Jersey

Published: November 3, 2017 08:12 pm EDT

The Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association (SBOANJ) is looking for pacing stallions to stand stud in the state of New Jersey.

A press release from the SBOANJ states that, "While our state is fortunate to have several strong trotting stallions standing in 2018, we lack significant representation on the pacing side."

The SBOANJ has developed the “Home Grown Pace” for pacing foals of 2016 in an attempt to increase racing opportunities for pacers. New stallions will help populate this stakes program as well as increase New Jersey Sire Stakes entries.

The SBOANJ is considering financial incentives for pacing stallion owners who bring their stallions to New Jersey.

If you are interested in standing a pacing stallion in New Jersey, please call the SBOANJ office at 732-462-2357. Representatives from the SBOANJ will also be available at the upcoming Harrisburg Sale to discuss current New Jersey programs and the incentive program.
