Jack Heaman Passes

Longtime owner Jack Heaman of Ailsa Craig, Ont. passed away on Friday, Oct. 31 at the age 79.

Jack was a longtime owner and trainer, most recently notching a win on Sept. 1 at Dresden Raceway with Pretty Boy Sam, a horse he trained for his son, Rick.

Loving husband and friend of Janet, proud father of Larry (Jan), Rick (Melanie) and Sandra (Ted) Vanos. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Jonathan, Amberlie, Derek, Courtney, Brittany, Travis and Justine. Brother of Shirley (Jack) Dorman, Don Heaman, Ross (Ethel) Heaman, Betty (Dave) Siddall and Stan “Bud” Heaman. Brother in law of Jim (Audrey) Scott, Nancey (Sam) Taylor, Judy (Harry) Bond, Betty Scott and Brenda (Bob) Smith. Predeceased by his parents Laurence and Evelyn Heaman and Wilmer and Mary Scott and his brother Wes Heaman and sisters in law Marie, Fran and Maxine Heaman.

Friends may call at the T. Stephenson & Son Funeral Home, Ailsa Craig on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Ailsa Craig Community Centre on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Interment, St. James Cemetery, Lucan.
