The horsepeople’s reunion which is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 12 at the Mohawk Inn and Conference Centre in Campbellville, Ont., is shaping up to be a popular event.

The harness community is buzzing in anticipation of the occasion, with representatives of every facet of the industry from days past and present, from Atlantic Canada to British Columbia and California to Florida, and points between, declaring their intentions to be there to renew acquaintances, old and new, and celebrate the 250th year of horseracing in Canada.

Drivers, trainers, veterinarians, owners, blacksmiths, track officials, judges, race announcers, grooms, breeders and harness writers will be among the gathering.

Jim Ralph, the colour commentator for the Toronto Maple Leafs’ radio show, will emcee the event, which is sponsored by the Ontario Harness Horse Association.
