Likely To Win Looking For Another

After having faced the best that the east coast of Canada has to offer, Likely To Win will drop back to Thursday night competition this week at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park.

First race post time for the 12-dash card will be 6:30 p.m.

Likely To Win will start from Post 6 and Adam Merner will be in the bike in Race 12, which is the program’s $2,100 featured event. The son of Western Terror had been racing against the top-flight preferred pacers at the CDP and had fared well, as he recorded a second and fourth-place finish. He will now return to mid-week competition where he has been a dominate force all season. Likely To Win is trained by Melissa Rennie for Nova Scotia owners Blenise Young and Lester Campbell along with Alberta owner Jeffrey Campbell.

Good Luck Kathy will start from Post 1 in Race 12 for driver Walter Cheverie. Good Luck Kathy knocked off the Open pacing mares last Saturday at the CDP. The ultra-consistent Oh To Be Me will start from Post 4 and will have Gary Chappell in the bike.

Other entries include Simon Said (to be driven by Corey MacPherson), Perfect Escape (Gilles Barrieau), Jeb (Jason Hughes) and Zingers Laugh (Ken Murphy).

The program’s $1,800 back-up pace will take to the track for Race 8. Narragansett has been installed as the morning line choice from Post 2 for trainer-driver Hughes and owner Ashley Gamester of Hunter River. The 31-time winner has hit the board in his four latest outings. The Race 8 field will also feature Give Em Heck from Post 4 with driver Gillies Barrieau at the lines and Jetster, who will start from Post 1 with catch driver Corey MacPherson.
