The organizers behind ‘Harness The Hope’ have provided Trot Insider with information surrounding the 10th anniversary of the event, which will take place this Friday (October 23) at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

The festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the first race on the program will head postward at 7:00 p.m. Eleven of the races are sponsored and Race 3 is the ‘Harness The Hope’ dash. After the race, racetrack attendees are invited to join the group blanket presentation to honour those who are fighting or have fought a brave battle with breast cancer.

Every horse, racing on Friday night will have a pink ribbon displayed on their harness to support and raise awareness within the harness racing industry.

Organizers have assembled a 50/50 draw, a penny-auction table in the main lobby, and a mystery prize draw for those who wear pink on Friday night. Ballots will be available at the auction table. Harness The Hope apparel will be available for purchase as well. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.

Organizers are hoping to raise the quantity of the penny auction items. Items can be donated in the main lobby of the racetrack by 6 p.m. on Friday. Also, anyone in the industry that is interested in donating a gift certificate for services can contact Doreen Dustin at 519-808-3703.
