After a total of four preliminary legs, the Meridian Farms and Standardbred Canada-sponsored $15,200 final of the Erwin Andrew Aged Mares Pacing Series is set to head postward this Saturday (October 15) at Red Shores' Charlottetown Driving Park

.

The series for mares that are Canadian-sired or 100 per cent Canadian-owned kicked off in late June and has given Maritime racing fans the opportunity to see the region's best older distaffers knock heads on multiple occasions.

The final, an eight-horse affair which will be raced for a purse of $15,200, has been carded as Race 11 on the CDP's 12-dash card. First-race post time is 6:00 p.m.

The Joseph Smallwood-trained and Walter Cheverie-driven JK Special has been installed as the 5-2 morning-line favourite from Post 6. The six-year-old Cammibest lass won three of the four Erwin Andrew preliminaries she took part in this season. She has faced the gate 23 times this year and has compiled a seasonal resume which reads nine wins, two second-place finishes and four thirds, good for $26,272 in purses. Overall, JK Special has won 24 of her 46 starts and has banked $82,567. Smallwood also bred and owns the mare.

The Wade Sorrie-trained and Clare McDonald-driven Onehotvett, who has been a perfect three for three in his Erwin Andrew prelims this year, has drawn Post 3 and has been pegged as the 3-1 second morning-line choice. The six-year-old daughter of Goliath Bayama has been a solid on-the-board finisher this season in her 33 starts. She has amassed a 2011 resume which reads 10 wins, four second-place finishes, four thirds and $34,431 in purses. The Val Spar Stables-bred mare is now owned by Walter Simmonds of Summerside, Prince Edward Island.

The third morning-line choice, the Albert Davies-trained Totally Priceless, a four-year-old Totally Western distaffer, has been gauged at odds of 4-1 and is set to leave from the rail for pilot Brodie MacPhee. The mare was unable to hit the wire first in any of the four Erwin Andrew preliminaries she participated in this year. From 27 seasonal starts, Totally Princess has recorded two wins, eight second-place finishes and three third-place efforts, good for $12,508.
