Robert Depencier Passes

Longtime horseman Robert Depencier of Strathroy, Ont. passed away suddenly in Orlando, Florida on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the age of 61

.

Robert had a passion for horses and harness racing, participating as an owner, trainer and driver. His last training win came with Sports Table at Dresden Raceway in 2008.

Born in Chatham, son of the late Raymond and Donna (Gillespie) Depencier. Beloved husband of Donna (Tuckwell) Depencier for 35 years. Dear father of Jennifer Muller and her husband Robert of Whitby, Raymond Depencier and his wife Alison of Chatham, Robert Depencier and his wife Lisa of London, and Ryan Depencier and his wife Michelle of Red Deer, Alberta. Grandfather of Branden, Bronsen, Braxten, Rose, Grace, Ellie, and Felicity. Brother of John Depencier and his wife Pat of Thamesville, Jim Depencier and his wife Barb of Watford, and Linda and Maryanne. Also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday January 31, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
