Officials from Dover Downs have announced that the track has cancelled its program of live racing scheduled for today (Wednesday, Jan. 22).
The cancellation is the second consecutive card that Dover has been forced to cancel due to frigid winter temperatures.
Dover officials cited windy conditions and temperature readings in the single digits.
In addition, Wednesday’s session of qualifying races has been rescheduled to Thursday morning at 10:00.
Officials from U.S. thoroughbred tracks Laurel Park, Penn National and Charles Town has also announced that they have cancelled their programmed cards of live racing due to the blast of winter weather.
