On Thursday, Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) released its annual Corporate Responsibility (CR) Report, “A new breed of responsibility.”

The report, published for the seventh straight year, provides the company’s stakeholders with an overview of WEG’s efforts and performance across all its facilities for a 15-month period from January 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013.

Written to global disclosure standards, Woodbine Entertainment Group is the first horse racing operator in the world to achieve reporting certification from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The report chronicles WEG’s progress in areas of corporate responsibility, including responsible gambling, community engagement, safety for horse and rider/driver and impact on the environment.

"WEG has made significant progress with its Corporate Responsibility agenda and the company is more committed than ever to ensuring that we continue to advance this program within our industry and in our communities,” said Nick Eaves WEG’s President and CEO. “Transparency has always been a hallmark at WEG and will continue to be as our business adapts to evolving times.”

The publishing of the report coincides with the launch of WEG’s new corporate website and can be found here.
