Whycantiforgetyou equaled Saratoga Raceway's track record for four-year-old pacing mares on Thursday when she stopped the teletimer in 1:53.1 to take the featured $15,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace.

Driven from Post 4 by Frank Coppola Jr., Whycantiforgetyou battled with Maranello N (Jim Devaux) through an opening quarter mile in :27.1 before clearing the front to cut middle fractions of :56 and 1:24.3.

After turning back a moderate first-over challenge from Dandys Jewel (Brian Allen), Whycantiforgetyou entered the stretch with a one-length lead, and the result was never in peril as the daughter of The Panderosa sprinted clear of her rivals to score by two lengths at the wire.

Whycantiforgetyou, who was sent off as the 1-2 favourite, defeated runner-up Dandys Jewel and third-place finisher Maranello N en route to her second consecutive victory in the class.

Owned by Sotirios Anastasopoulos of Laval, Quebec, and trained by Kelly Clark, Whycantiforgetyou has prevailed in five of 10 starts this year. She has posted 15 lifetime victories from 48 outings while banking nearly $250,000.

Whycantiforgetyou's winning time of 1:53.1 matched the previous track record set by The Isle of Pan on June 7, 2008. The Isle of Pan, incidentally, crossed the wire fifth in the Thursday feature.
