Whosgoingwhosstayin Remains Undefeated

Undefeated two-year-old trotter, Whosgoingwhosstayin posted his sixth straight victory Saturday with a nine and one-half length romp at Pompano Park Harness Track.

The track held 14 non-wagering Florida Sire Stakes races Saturday for two and three-year-old trotters and pacers in preparation for the September 12 opening night for pari-mutuel wagering. It was the third leg of the Florida Sunshine State Stakes with total purses of more than $76,000.

Competing in the fifth race $5,320 division for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings, Whosgoinwhosstayin took the lead after the opening quarter mile for driver Mickey McNichol and held the field at bay. The son of Basil coasted to the finish in a lifetime best time of 2:00.2 for the one-mile trot. Linda Kakaley trains and co-owns Whosgoinwhosstayin with breeder Sophia Valkanoff of Pompano Beach, Florida.

Make Mine A Double (Dan Clements) was second with Be Lachek (Wally Hennessey) third.

In the third race $5,464 division for two-year-old trotting fillies, Pearl Of Capri and driver Dan Clements were able to lead from start to finish by four and one-quarter lengths to win in 2:04.3.

It was the fourth straight victory for the daughter of Famously. Pearl Of Capri is trained by Veral Bowman and is owned and bred by Frank and Inge Smith of Deerfield Beach, Florida. Wecandoit (Bruce Ranger) was second with Parsley Sprig (Wally Hennessey) third.

Alice Springs continued her winning ways in the 10th race $5,445 three-year-old filly pace. She quarter moved for driver Wally Hennessey and then held the lead the rest of the mile, winning with ease by four open lengths in 1:58.1. Bilmar Diva (Mickey McNichol) was second with Allee T (Bruce Ranger) third.

It was the 14th win in 15 career starts for Alice Springs. The daughter of N Aboriginal is trained by Tom Harmer and owned by the Ciara Stables and Michael Polansky of Loudonville, New York.

It was four in a row for Baileysirishdream and trainer/driver Bob Roberts in the 11th race $5,344 three-year-old filly trot. Leading from start to finish, Baileysirishdream won by three and three-quarter lengths in 2:01.3. Indigo Swirl (Wally Hennessey) was second and Famous Spirit (Dan Clements) finished third.

Sired by Matchem Hanover, Baileysirishdream was bred and is owned by Barbara Bailey of Deleon Springs, Florida.

The fastest mile on the day was in the 12th race $5,743 Sunshine State Stakes for three-year-olds colts and geldings as McFlash and driver Dan Clements came first over in the backstretch to challenge pacesetter Alligator Alley (Wally Hennessey) and grind it out to a three-quarter-length triumph in 1:55.3. Napoleon Dynahorse (Bruce Ranger) was third.

Sired by Mannart Howard, it was the fourth win this year for McFlash, who is trained and co-owned by Dave Myrick of Margate, George Johnson, Jr. of Ocala, Florida and Kirti Mahida-Singh of Breingsville, Pennsylvania.
