Up And Down Day For Arsenault

Kenny Arsenault had a profitable day at the CDPEC on Sunday afternoon, but in doing so he was forced to bounce back from an early mishap.

The Charlottetown, PEI horseman was unseated from the sulky in Race 4 as a result of a multi-horse mix-up which started as a result of a break in stride by Riverlea Bandit (Donald Macneil).

That pacer made a miscue past the half and caused interference to Bugginbud (Norman Myers), who fell. Silkys Money (Arsenault) unseated his pilot after being interfered with.

CDPEC officials confirmed none of the horses or drivers suffered serious injuries in the mishap.

Kenny Arsenault bounced back from the spill and made five trips to victory lane. Four of the wins came with horses from his own stable.

Springbrook Dalis (1:59.2) got the ball rolling in Race 6 before The Joker (2:00) took Race 7, Rheingold (2:03.1) scored in Race 9 and Yankee Sun (1:58.3) triumphed in Race 13.

He also catch-drove Bubblin Crude (2:00.3) to victory in Race 12 for trainer Bernard Leslie, who co-owns the mare with partner Ralph Clark of Toronto, ON.
