The Red Mile announced this morning that Frank Bruno of Freehold, New Jersey will assume the position of racing secretary for the early fall meet at the Lexington, Kentucky oval.

Bruno has been assistant race secretary to Tad Stockman at the Meadowlands Racetrack for the past six years.

"We are elated that Frank will be joining our racing team," said Grand Circuit race secretary Connie Ackerman-Hochstetler. "We were sad that we lost Kevin Mack, who took a full time position at Hoosier Park, but Frank comes to us with a lot of knowledge and knows everyone."

Bruno will also serve as judge during the two-week Grand Circuit meet.

In stakes news, the Nadia Lobell for three-year-old pacing fillies will go for an estimated $250,000 after the final payments, while the Moni Maker for three-year-old trotting fillies will go for around $220,000.

There are no eliminations for the Nadia Lobell, which races September 7 (the top 10 who enter will race). In addition, a consolation race of $20,000 has been added for those who do not qualify for the final.

The Moni Maker eliminations for $10,000 will be conducted on September 7 with the top 10 finalists to move on to the final on September 14.

Opening day is July 27 and the racing action will be filled with million dollar Kentucky Sires Stakes, the Simpsons, the Nadia Lobell and the Moni Maker.
