Lederman Back For Xtreme Horsepower

Larry Lederman, the voice of Xtreme Horsepower, returns for a second year behind the mic on August 9 at Georgian Downs.

"I haven't been able to stop talking about Xtreme Horsepower over the past year and it's a thrill to be involved again," said Lederman from his New Jersey base of operations.

"I really didn't know what to expect going into the inaugural event, but it was more fun and more extreme than I ever could have imagined. I'm honoured to be back for a second season."

Lederman delighted Xtreme Horsepower fans last year with his talent and wit as a racecaller. A veteran announcer of 25 years with stints at Atlantic City Racecourse, Freehold Raceway and Garden State Park, Lederman is ranked among the continent's top horse racing personalities.

"Larry was the perfect choice for Xtreme Horsepower last year and the results proved it – fans loved him," said Chris Roberts, director of Operations at Georgian Downs. "It's an extreme card of racing. There's no racecaller more extreme than our friend Larry."

With just 30 days remaining, final preparations are taking place for Xtreme Horsepower II, a joint venture between Standardbred Canada and Georgian Downs.

Post time for the August 9 card is set for 7:25 p.m.
