Through Sunday's session, the Keeneland thoroughbred yearling sales have been following the industry trend, with numbers reduced compared to those of last year.
According to a piece in the Thoroughbred Times, Keeneland reported a cumulative average price of $100,240, a 10.9% decrease compared with $112,540 after 13 sessions a year ago. Median is down 6% to $47,000.
Through Sunday's sales session, Keeneland reported 3,245 yearlings as sold for total receipts of $325,277,800. Total sales have slipped 14.6% compared with $380,836,600 at the same point last year, but cumulative total receipts surpassed the '04 Keeneland September sale to rank fourth since the sale's inception.
