Distinction Day In La Belle Province

It was a big day for two year-old pacers and trotters at the Hippodrome de Montreal on Sunday, as the Quebec oval hosted an assortment of Distinction divisions.

Trinity Oaks found the winner's circle for the third time in her career thanks to her popular win in the first $12,000 division for trotting fillies.

The daughter of Armbro Winner kicked home in :29.2 for driver Yves Gauthier en route to defeating Bel D Erable and Queens Force.

The Julie Leblond trainee, who is owned by Prospect Trot S E N C of St Eustache, QC, has banked $19,050 to date.

Jojo Bingbing earned a new speed badge in the second split for the fillies when she tripped the teletimer in 1:59 for trainer/driver Marcel Barrieau. It was the second score for the daughter of Armbro Nash, who has yet to finish worse than second in five starts.

The filly took over command shortly past the quarter pole, and once on the lead she didn't give it up. Saskia Lavictoire was more than three lengths in arrears. Stormont Snug Me rounded out the top three.

Conrad Leber and Richard Karper of Quebec share ownership on the career winner of $25,400.

Yursa Hanover took a break from Grand Circuit action to take the final split for the trotting fillies in a time of 2:01.3 for trainer/driver Normand Bardier Jr.

The daughter of Windsongs Legacy laid down fractions of :28.2, 1:00.3 and 1:31.4 en route to her first lifetime win. Serenas Genie rallied to finish second and Cadeau PV rounded out the top three.

R Berthiaume Inc. of Montreal, QC holds the papers on the rookie, who has banked $15,200 in five lifetime starts.

Rocket Tino notched his second consecutive stakes score when he stepped to a 2:00.3 decision in the first $11,000 division for trotting colts and geldings. He rallied to win in a time of 2:00.3 for Hall of Famer, Jacques Hebert.

The son of Monte Hall, who hangs his harness bag in the barn of trainer Pierre Lacharite, prevailed by a length over runner-up Max Lou. Mini Mel rounded out the top three.

Ecuries Pierre Lacharite Inc. and Jean Martin of Quebec share ownership on the career winner of $23,600.

Tsunami Dream got into the win column for the first time in his career thanks to a 2:00.3 triumph in the second division for the colt and gelding trotters.

Trained and driven by Dustin Jones, the son of Fortuna Winner took advantage of a ground-saving trip en route to the narrow score over Coup Sur. PLP Kiddy Ty took home third prize.

The freshman has banked $10,100 to date for the partnership of Hudson Standrdbrd Stb. Inc. and Soc Ge Denis Robidoux Inc. of Quebec.

Speculation was a popular winner in the final division for the colts and geldings, winning as the 2-5 choice for trainer/driver Marcel Barrieau in a time of 2:00.1. It was the second consecutive victory for the son of Pistols N Spurs.

The youngster held on to win by a half-length margin over Vangogh Lavictoire. M C Felix tagged along to finish third.

Conrad Leber and Jean Charron of Quebec share ownership on the colt, who upped his lifetime earnings to $27,254 with the win.

Culotte notched a maiden-breaking score in the opening $13,200 division for the pacing fillies. The Real Artist miss, who was last in the 11-filly field at the quarter pole, used a :27.3 closing panel to win by just over a length for trainer/driver Claude Cadieux.

Owned by Gestion Jean Yves Blais of Montreal, QC, the filly defeated Winner Panic and Rs Dream.

Sharknfestedwaters was an eye-catching winner in her debut for trainer/driver Daniel Martin, who watched the Four Starzzz Shark miss step to a career-best clocking of 1:56.2 in the other division for pacing fillies.<

It was the third win in four lifetime starts for the precocious youngster, who defeated Allamerican Slide and Dianelladecharkrika.

The homebred filly, who is owned by Mc Trade Enterprises Inc. of Amos, QC, boasts lifetime earnings of $14,461.
