For the second consecutive week, Armbro Chronicle toppled the nation's top trotters in the $50,000 Open at Woodbine Racetrack.

The six-year-old son of Self Possessed was reunited with driver Steve Byron, who tripped out the Kent Baker trainee en route to achieving the 1:53.4 score.

Armbro Chronicle settled into the pocket spot behind Please Poppy, who hammered out panels of :26.4, :56.2 and 1:25.3 before being overtaken.

Armbro Chronicle tipped off the leader's back at the head of the lane and kicked away to win in going away fashion. Please Poppy stayed for second and Mystical Ryan was a distant third in the eight-horse affair.

Baker, who shares ownership on the gelding with Cal Patterson, Randy Fielder and Wayne Smith, has watched the trotter pick up eights win this season while banking $431,928. As for lifetime totals, he now has 25 wins and $878,692 in the bank.
