With just over a week to go before the Atlantic Breeders Crown championship weekend, Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action is heading to Northside Downs

.

The two-year-old pacing fillies are sure to provide exciting harness racing action at the North Sydney oval on Saturday afternoon and a large crowd is expected trackside.

Two “A” divisions will each go for a purse pool of $9,060 and two “B” divisions will each go for $2,500. Points accumulated in each Atlantic Sires Stakes “A” event goes towards earning entry into the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown championships, so the competition on Saturday is sure to be at an all time high.

This will be the final Atlantic Sires Stakes event prior to the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown. This year, Truro Raceway will host the premier harness racing event. The Weekend Festival of Racing will take place October 8, 9 and 10 and will include the Atlantic Sires Stakes championships and consolations, as well as invitational races and the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Select Yearling Sale.

Current point standings and information about the Atlantic Breeders Crown can be viewed at www.atlanticsiresstakes.ca.

Post time at Northside Downs on Saturday is 1 p.m., with a non-betting event going at 12:30 p.m.
