Fourteen-year-old trotter Abundaspin recorded his 78th career win in the trot division Thursday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Harold Shepherd-trained Abundaspin rallied in deep stretch to knock off fraction setter JK Queen to score in 2:02.3 for driver Steven Shepherd and owner Mikaela Lustic of Cornwall. Majian Dillon was third.
The evening feature went to Machinthesand, owned by Russell and Karen Noonan and Noonan Holdings Ltd of Middleton, PE in a sparkling 1:56.4. Gary Chappell did the driving for trainer Mark Bradley. IDK was second while Nobestbfor was third.
Chappell and Marc Campbell had driving doubles on the program.
