Pocono Open To Grain Of Truth

Grain Of Truth, trained by Ray Schnittker and driven to victory by Tom Jackson, established a new lifetime mark of 1:53.3 in winning the $24,000 open handicap trot at

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs Tuesday night.

Jackson gave the nine-year-old Self Possessed gelding a pocket trip behind Looking Hanover (Eric Goodell), who left from Post 9. Opening quarter was timed in :26.3, half in :56.2 and three-quarters in 1:24.4 before Jackson took to the inside lane to win by a neck over Looking Hanover. Third in the race was Zitomira (Jacqueline Ingrassia, a half length back).

Grain Of Truth has been the most consistent trotter this season at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs and racing against open and open handicap trotters.

Schnittker’s Grain Of Truth now has won seven of 25 starts with nine second-place finishes and six third-place finishes in 2010.
