Horsemen Contribute To Food Bank

Over the past number of years, employees and staff from Empire City, Yonkers Raceway and the Standardbred Owners Association of New York have visited the Food Bank For Westchester in nearby Elmsford, helping out with the fine work of that organization.

Friday night, the folks from Food Bank returned the favour, visiting Yonkers to enjoy dinner, a night at the races...and to receive a donation.

The Raceway and the SOA made a contribution to the Food Bank, which goes toward feeding the hungry throughout the county of Westchester.

“Yonkers is pleased to assist such a worthy cause,” Raceway COO Bob Galterio said. “So many of our employees generously donate their time every time we visit. Anything we can do to help, it’s our pleasure.”

“We have had tremendous support from horsemen and owners throughout our organization,” SOA of New York president Joe Faraldo said. “Many of Yonkers’ leading drivers have been to the Food Bank to lend a hand and see what this organization does.”
