Live: Hamilton Hears From OLG, GCGC

Hamilton City Council is now hearing comments from the Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corporation and Great Canadian Gaming Corp. with respect to gaming expansion within the area.

Many of the questions directed at OLG from city council pertained to what the OLG would do with respect to expanded gaming in the region since the city has backed Flamboro Downs as its preferred gaming destination. Larry Flynn, Senior Vice-President of Gaming for OLG, told councillors the OLG has not prepared for anything but yes or no answers from municipalities with respect to hosting casinos. Flynn went on to say that the gaming zones could in fact be altered when the OLG issues its RFPQ (request for pre-qualifications) later this year.

Representatives from Great Canadian Gaming will address council on Wednesday afternoon.
