Sylvain Filion, Canada's defending Driver of the Year, completed a natural hat trick on Thursday night at Mohawk Racetrack with longshot Prescotts Hope leading a strung out field to an 86-1 shocker in the last race.

Filion fashioned a pair of narrow front end victories with Anna Glide's sophomore filly J High ($6.40) and five-year-old gelding Blue Chip Sunshine ($3.20) for the nation's leading trainer Richard Moreau before the evening's biggest surprise in a $15,000 claiming class for non-winners of $40,000 lifetime.

The David Daigneault-trained gelding Prescotts Hope returned a whopping $175.20 to win for the first time in 14 starts during his four-year-old campaign. Sent postward as the longest shot on the board, the son of No Pan Intended built up a seven-length lead by the three-quarters mark and cruised home to win by three and a half lengths in a lifetime-best clocking of 1:53.2 over favourites Vital Sign and Brand Of My Own.
