Track Records At Ormstown Fair

A pair of track records were broken Saturday, September 16 at the Ormstown Fairgrounds, with Imagine Speed lowering the mark for aged mare pacers, and Camco Richie equaling the mark for aged gelding pacers.

Imagine Speed, going wire to wire, set splits of :29.4, 1:01, and 1:32 before winning by eight-and-a-quarter lengths at the line. Owned and trained by Michel Allard, the four-year-old mare by Ponder out of the Threefold mare Cmon Mama Cass paid $4.40 to win. Winning in 2:02.1, Imagine Speed bested the previous mark of 2:04.1 set by Sans Frontiere.

Camco Richie parked first over for owner-trainer-driver Steven Gagnon, powering to a two-and-a-half length victory following fractions of :29.4, 1:02.3, and 1:33 to win in 2:01.4, matching the mark set by Trys Little Prince. The six-year-old gelding by Signyourlifeaway from the Sealed N Delivered mare One Close Call paid $23.10 to win.
