Driver John MacDonald dominated the second half of Sunday's 15-dash program at Rideau Carleton Raceway as he worked out five winning drives between the seventh and 13th races.

MacDonald's first win didn't come until the seventh race with Ron MacDonald trainee Win Gaiter ($6.40), but once he got rolling he reeled off two more consecutive wins with Hopetobefirst ($5.50) for Luc Loyer and his own trainee One False Move ($37.10). He also scored back-to-back wins beginning in the 12th race with Wolf Creek Ted ($5.90) for Mike Healey and Did It Again ($9.20) for Jamie Johnston.

MacDonald currently sits third in the track's drivers standings behind Denis St. Pierre and leader Simon Allard with 153 Ottawa victories this year. The Russell, Ont. resident, who is on the verge of his seventh straight million-dollar season, has won 2,493 races lifetime and nearly $12.86 million in purses.
