Harness Tracks of America has reported that an $89 million contract with Scientific Games for monitoring VLTs in Illinois was cancelled Monday.
The contract is up for re-bidding by the Illinois Gaming Board because of “miscalculations.”
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn was to name a winner today to manage the state’s $2 billion lottery.
The competition was a true heavyweight brawl, between Northstar Lottery Group, a consortium led by a partnership of GTECH and Scientific Games, and the Camelot Group, which operates the lottery in the United Kingdom.
