The number 13 proved to be a lucky one for superstar filly Bee A Magician as she conjured up her 13th consecutive victory on Friday the 13th at Mohawk Racetrack in a Canadian record equalling performance.

Bee A Magician established a new Ontario Sires Stakes trot record and matched Check Me Out's track and Canadian record of 1:52.1 in the final OSS Gold Series leg of the regular season for three-year-old trotting fillies.

After getting away fourth from post four through a :27.2 first quarter in the $105,000 opening division, driver Rick Zeron sent the heavy 1-9 favourite to the lead and carved out middle splits of :56.1 and 1:24 before drawing off down the stretch. Longshot Charmed Life (Paul MacDonell) rallied home from mid-pack for second, nearly four lengths behind, while early race leader Angies Lucky Star (Sylvain Filion) finished third. Divisional point leader Motown Muscle (Mario Baillargeon) was fourth.

Bee A Magician's win streak dates back to last year's OSS Super Final on Nov. 10, 2012. She's since won all 12 of her sophomore starts adding over $1 million in purses to her bankroll. Aside from winning three Gold Series events including the Mid-Summer Challenge, Bee A Magician has taken on the top filly trotters in North America and boasts rich victories in the Hambletonian Oaks, Elegantimage Stakes, Delvin Miller Memorial and Simcoe Stakes, among others. She's already a world record-holder courtesy of her career-best 1:51 score in the Del Miller at New Jersey's Meadowlands Racetrack.

Richard 'Nifty' Norman trains the Kadabra-Beehive filly for owners Melvin Hartman of Ottawa, Ont. and Florida's Herb Liverman and David McDuffee.

Bee A Magician paid $2.10 to win.

Princess Lilly pulled off a mild 5-1 upset in the other sophomore trotting filly division as she rallied wide from the backfield to prevail in a career-best clocking of 1:54.2.

Mario Baillargeon drove the Muscle Mass-Golden Goose filly for his brother, trainer Ben Baillargeon, and owner Les Ecuries Piramidan of Gatineau, Que. Last year's divisional Grassroots champion earned the first stakes win of her sophomore campaign.

Sent postward as the fourth choice in the wagering, Princess Lilly paid $12.70 to win. Norman trainee Choir Robe (Rick Zeron) rallied home off the cover of 2-1 favourite Anaffairtoremember (Jack Moiseyev) to finished second while front-stepper Samira Hanover (Paul MacDonell) settled for third.

Mohawk also hosted Ontario-sired two-year-old pacing fillies in a pair of $105,000 Gold Series divisions.

In the first freshman filly event, driver Doug McNair sent 2-5 favourite Sudoku underway from mid-pack down the backstretch, and after ducking in behind the leading Regil Meg (James MacDonald) around the final turn, she surged by to win by two lengths in a new mark of 1:53.4. Regil Meg settled for second and longshot Performing Art (Jack Moiseyev) rallied off the winner’s cover to show. Sudoku paid $2.80 to win.

The Badlands Hanover-Mind Boggling filly is trained by Tony O’Sullivan for Florida’s Let It Ride Stables Inc., Robert Cooper Stables LLC, Dana Parham, and Pennsylvania’s Howard Taylor. Also a Gold winner in her career debut on July 11 at Rideau Carleton Raceway, Sudoku now sports a 2-2-0 record in six starts with earnings climbing to $142,463.

Buried in along the pylons amidst the backfield, 5-1 shot Yoselin Seelster and Rick Zeron managed to shake loose late and sprint home on the far outside to win the second freshman filly division in a career-best 1:54.2. Just a neck behind, Lady Jake (Jody Jamieson) was the runner-up off a second over trip while Porsche Seelster (James MacDonald) finished third. The winner returned $12.10 to her backers.

Ben Wallace trains the Shadow Play-Yankee Athena miss, who picked up her first stakes victory, for owner Bradley Grant of Milton, Ont. She has now compiled a 2-4-1 record in 11 career starts and the lion's share of the purse nearly doubled her bankroll, pushing it over the $100,000 plateau.

Two-year-old pacing fillies will compete in their fifth and final Gold Series leg on Sept. 20 at Grand River Raceway. Mohawk Racetrack will host OSS Super Final Night on Sept. 28.
