The streaking pacer Full Moon Dodger closed out the 2017 season of the Manitoba Great Western Harness Racing Circuit with one more victory in Sunday's featured finale at Miami.

Don Howlett drove the six-year-old Brandons Cowboy gelding to his sixth straight win in the $3,300 Open Pace for trainer Trevor Williams and owner Michael Williams of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Full Moon Dodger was on top by the :28.3 quarter mark and carved out middle splits of :59.1 and 1:29.1 before holding off the pocket-pulling Wine N Mcroses and oncoming Ticket To Roll to score by half a length in 2:00.3. Ticket To Roll edged out Wine N Mcroses for the runner-up honours.

Full Moon Dodger began his current winning crusade on July 30 and has earned three of his victories at Miami, along with a pair at Killarney and one victory at Morris.

The win was the third on the day for Howlett and second for the Williams stable, which has been a dominant force all season long. Trainer/driver Blake Piwniuk also doubled up on Sunday's seven-race card.
