Sent off the odds-on favourite, Buttermilk Hanover moved uncovered to grab the lead into the stretch, winning the $8,800 featured pace at Georgian Downs on Saturday, August 26.

Getting away fourth at the quarter, tempo-setter Elegant Gift went splits of :27.1, :56.2, and 1:24.2 before losing the lead to Buttermilk Hanover, who initiated her first-over bid before the half, around the far turn. Buttermilk Hanover kicked away to a two-length lead at the line, winning over Elegant Gift and rail-rider Now And Again.

A four-year-old mare by Badlands Hanover from the Matts Scooter mare Bet Me Hanover, Buttermilk Hanover won her fourth race in 16 starts this season. She competes for owner 8113564 Canada Limited and Todd Beelby, is trained by Rod Boyd, and was driven by Robert Shepherd. She paid $3.50 to win.
