One lucky Maine bettor hit the Pocono Downs Pick 7 jackpot last night. The payoff was $41,721.20.
The winning ticket came from the Lewiston, Maine hub that simulcasts the live races from Pocono. Winning numbers for the seven races were 4-6-6-5-4-5-5 and involved mostly favourites in Races 6 through 12.
Pick 7 is a $2 wager and bettor must select winners of seven consecutive races to share or collect the jackpot. There are nightly consolation prizes if no one correctly selects all seven winners.
Implemented June 30, this is the second time the Pick 7 jackpot was hit. It took 18 days for the first one of some $71,000 to be shared by four lucky bettors while it was on the 16th day for the second jackpot to be to be taken.
Friday night’s jackpot will start at $25,000.
Pocono conducts live harness racing on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights with first-race post times at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. through November 21.
