Bouncy Ponies Coming To Kawartha

Four of Kawartha Downs’ drivers and four trainers will compete in bouncy pony races during the harness racing program on Saturday night (August 19) at the Fraserville track.

Nick Boyd, Justin Turcotte, Jim Gillespie and Rob Doyle represent the track’s drivers while Ronda Markle, Dave Gibson, Rod Hughes and Tommy Riley will race on behalf of Kawartha’s trainers.

Following the third race, there will be two qualifying heats. The four drivers and then the four trainers will face off against each other with the top two finishers in each race returning for the finale after race seven, which will be comprised of two drivers and two trainers.

Fans can get in on the action as well. Place your name in the box representing the trainer or driver you think will win. After the qualifying heats, the winners will select a name from their box and the winner will receive $10 in betting vouchers and a Kawartha Downs hat. The person selected by the grand champion will receive $50 in betting vouchers.

Kawartha Downs thanks Grand River Raceway for graciously loaning them their bouncy ponies for local horse people and fans to enjoy on Saturday night. Post time is 7 p.m.
