Allard Youngest To 2,000 Wins

The first race from Yonkers Raceway on Thursday, August 15, 2013 will be one that trainer Rene Allard will remember for quite some time considering it’s the one that gave him 2,000 lifetime wins.

The 26-year-old Quebec native, who became the youngest trainer in the history of the sport to reach 2,000 wins, joined forces with driver Brian Sears to secure the milestone victory with pacer G G Roulette.

Allard sent out 16 winners in his first year as a licensed trained in 2004, and since then the size of his satellite has swelled and his stats have been nothing short of stellar. The 2012 season – his best to date – saw him send out 453 winners while banking in excess of $3.7 million.

To celebrate Allard's achievement, the Allard Family will be hosting a pig roast BBQ on Saturday, August 31 at St-Esprit - the first of two days of Circuit Regional racing for the fair track. There will be live harness racing starting at 1:00 p.m. on August 31 and Monday, Sept. 2. The Allards will be contributing a bonus of $5,000 to the Open purse that day.
