Clinton's Kids Day Raises Over $1,000

Kids Day at the Races, an annual event held at Clinton Raceway, took place this Sunday (August 14) at the Huron County oval. In addition to the afternoon of live harness racing, kids were able to take a lap of the track in the double jog cart, thanks to the Wanna Drive team.

They were also kept busy in the park with free swimming, bouncy castles, inflatable horse races and face painting.

The miniature horses were trackside for a meet and greet before their on-track performance following the ninth race of the day. Coors, driven by Wayne Henry and owned by Nicole Henry, took home bragging rights for winning the quarter-mile romp.

Race fans came together to support the Sunshine Foundation holding the day's fundraiser. Through 50/50, BBQ and bake sales, generous fans raised over $1,000 for the foundation.

Nick Steward was the driving star on track, winning half of the afternoon's races.

The handle was over $30,000 for the 10-race card.

Three weeks of live racing remains in the 2016 season at Clinton Raceway.
