Thats It Does It Again

After upsetting as one of the longest shots on the board last week, Thats It proved her win the $9,000 Fillies & Mares Open was no fluke with a superb return performance in Saturday's (August 11) feature at Century Downs.

Trainer Rod Hennessy was once again at the controls of Thats It, facing five foes in the $9,000 Open Pace. Hennessy asked Thats It early, sending the mare swiftly away from post four to gain early tempo control, and got to the top ahead of Watch My Luck (Nathan Sobey) and that one's stablemate, favoured Tajmeallover (J. F. Gagne) before opening the mile pedestrian :29 quarter. The mares maintained their single-file order through a leisurely :58.2 half.

As the field straightened out down the backside, Gagne right-lined Tajmeallover and gave her the cue to track down Thats It. With a brisk brush, Tajmeallover cleared and opened a two-length advantage while tripping the third timer in 1:26. Turning for home, Thats It showed she wasn't through and started to gain on Tajmeallover heading for the wire. The talented duo hit the wire seemingly together in a time of 1:54.4, with Thats It just a nose in front. You Name It (Jamie Gray) completed the triactor.

Owned by Hennessy along with Albertans Lorne Duffield and Jean Crochetiere, Thats It (Dragon Again - Thats No Lady) now sports a summary of 6-5-6 in 25 seasonal starts. The winner's share of the purse places her total for this campaign over the $51,000 mark.
