Winning six races on a single program is quite a feat, but winning races in succession on a single program is just downright awesome.
Driver Kevin Wallis did exactly that during Hiawatha Horse Park’s 10-race card on Thursday evening. The sulky sitter from Maidstone, ON finished dead last in the opener before rattling off six straight scores beginning in Race 2 with Rachel Olivia (2:00).
He then captured Races 3 through 7 with Expresso Yourself (2:00), Susan B Panthony (1:58), Wishin Iwas Fishin (2:01.1), Cant Stop Rockin (1:56.3) and Northern Illusion (2:01.3).
Winning six-in-a-row pushed Wallis’ yearly win total to 193 while his lifetime total climbed to 9,337. The winner of purses in excess of $44 million now boasts a UTR of .359 for the season and a UTR of .340 in his career.
