On Wednesday, July 23 at Saratoga Casino and Raceway, Market Rally broke the track record for three-year-old trotting fillies by capturing her $91,550 division of the New York Sire Stakes.

Market Rally (Cash Hall-Supreme Dish) came into Wednesday’s sire stakes event on a three-race win streak since the addition of Lasix.

The Ron Burke-trained filly made an early move to the lead for driver Jim Morrill Jr. and the race’s 1-9 betting favourite would never look back. Market Rally drew away from her competition to win in 1:55.4 over a track labelled as ‘good.’

The win time broke the track mark set by Munis Blue Chip in August 2012.

The other $91,550 NYSS race on the card was won by Driving Miss Crazy and trainer-driver Gates Brunet.

Driving Miss Crazy (Crazed-Schare Hall) went wire-to-wire on hung on to prevail in 1:57.2 at odds of 9-2.

New York Sire Stakes action will return to Saratoga next Wednesday night when two-year-old filly pacers square off at the ‘Spa.’

Live racing at Saratoga will continue on Thursday night. First-race post time is set for 7:05 p.m.
