'Sinner' A Winner In Charlottetown

Sinners In Heaven in line to Terry Gallant used a three-wide back stretch burst to romp in the Thursday night feature at Red Shores Charlottetown.

A front end battle heading to the quarter between Leading Camdidate and Minor Wisdom set up all the big fractions (:27.3, :56.4, 1:27.1) Sinners In Heaven needed to capture a five-and-a-half length victory in a life time best 1:56.2.

The five-year-old son of Articulator is owned by River Valley Management, Lana Murphy and Windemere Farms, Earl Watts handles the training duties, the win gave Gallant his second victory on the card. He scored in the evening opener with Mr Macleod.

While the big boys were in Truro for stakes action, Ronnie Matheson stole the show in Charlottetown, returning three winners back to the winner’s circle. He kicked off his hat trick with Waterhook for owner Bruce Wood, Matheson then picked up back-to-back victories from post eight with a pair of Jackie Matheson trainees, Starcastic in 1:57.2, and answered back in the next race with Hornswoggle in 1:59.

Gary Chappell also enjoyed two trips back to the winner’s enclosure, first with Lyndale Jenn, his second victory came with the free legged Shock The Rock.

Racing returns to Red Shores Charlottetown on Saturday night with a 6 p.m. post time.
