Bettorsluckystreak, driven by Jim Taggart Jr., was victorious in Tioga Downs’ featured $9,000 matinee pace on Sunday, July 16.

Believe This Bob (driven by Aaron Byron) cut the fractions in :25.4, :55.1 and 1:22.3.

Bettorsluckystreak, by Bettors Delight, is owned by Ken Weckstein, Richard Rubin and trainer Gary Messenger. He rode the pocket the whole way until the top of the stretch, where he stormed to the front and won in a lifetime best clocking of 1:51.

The win was the fourth of the season for Bettorsluckystreak ($11.60). Team Captain (Fern Paquet Jr.) rallied late to finish second, while Believe This Bob settled for third.

Scott ‘The Tan Tornado’ Coulter was the only storm that hit Tioga during what was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. He recorded victories with Gold Star Spike ($8.00), Fritzie Pic Up Man ($3.80), Ideal Legacy A ($37.60) and Anderlecht ($6.20).

Mike Simons added two more wins on Sunday, which gives him 49 for the season. Mike Merton is in second with 31 victories.

Tioga Downs will be back live on Friday (July 21) starting at 6:50 p.m. The Nichols, NY track will be featuring its annual ‘Miss Tioga Downs Pageant’ between races.
