Officials with Racing Under Saddle Ontario (RUS) have announced that the organization has made the decision to cancel the July 19 race scheduled for Georgian Downs.

An announcement on the RUS website states that after a discussion with Ian Fleming, it was agreed that it would be ‘in the best interest of riders, trainers, owners and horses to hold off until more qualifiers have been provided for more horses and eligible riders.’

RUS has stated that the new date for the under saddle race at Georgian will be announced on the RUS website (rusontario.com).

The contents of the RUS announcement appear below.

JULY 19TH EVENT POSTPONED

We have made the decision to postpone the July 19th race at Georgian Downs. In discussion with Ian Fleming today, it was agreed that it would be in the best interest of riders, trainers, owners and horses to hold off until more qualifiers have been provided for more horses and eligible riders.

We will post the new date for Georgian as soon as it becomes available on rusontario.com.

In the meantime, more qualifiers will be planned, including this Friday’s scheduled qualifier for Mohawk.

Thank you for understanding, and thank you to everyone who came out in support of racing under saddle’s debut wagering event July 13th at Clinton Raceway! We made many new fans and followers, and the wagering handle on our race alone was very impressive!

Thank you

RUS ONTARIO
