In a surprisingly candid interview, Mount Airy Casino's chief executive, George Toth, has discussed how his Pennsylvania gaming operation openly courts residents of New Jersey, and how New Jersey is his company's market

.

According to the northjersey.com report, Toth said, “But Jersey — that’s our market,” and that, "we want to own that market, so we’ll spend a lot of time in that market bringing in people.”

Toth also was cited as saying that even if New Jersey decides to transform the complex at the Meadowlands into a gambling hub, his facility will not be affected, saying that it will prevail.

“Five years from now, you’ll see a completely redeveloped 1,500 acres, with entertainment, shopping, timeshares and so on,” said Toth. "We’re not going to stand still and wait for something to happen in the Meadowlands. We’ll have something that will transcend whatever they can do on the Jersey Turnpike at the Meadowlands.

“For us to be impacted by something like that, it would have to mean that we haven’t been moving forward aggressively, and we’re not going to make a mistake and let that happen.”
