Vernon Downs welcomes three $39,900 divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for three-year-old pacing fillies on Thursday (July 12).

In the first division, American Ideal filly Checkered Past (Jim Morrill Jr.) is the 2-1 morning line favourite. Owned by All Star Racing and trained by Peter Foley, she is two-for-10 as a sophomore, with her biggest win coming in a $58,000 NYSS event at Buffalo Raceway in June. The second choice is Newsday (Jim Marohn Jr.) at 3-1. The Art Major filly, owned by M. Kinsey, E. McEnery, M. Gluckman and trainer Richard Silverman, has two wins in 2018, including a NYSS win against Checkered Past taken on June 21 at Yonkers Raceway.

In the second division, Ubettergo Go (Mark MacDonald) is the 2-1 morning line favourite. The Art Major filly is two-for-five in her sophomore season, with both wins coming in NYSS legs. She is owned by Tony Basile, Reginald Petitpas, Ozzie MacKay and trainer Blake MacIntosh.

The Ron Burke-trained duo of Lets Fall In Love (Morrill) and Pueblo Blue Chip (Matt Kakaley) should be her toughest competition.

Lets Fall In Love (Rock N Roll Heaven) is the second choice at 3-1. Owned by William J. Donovan, she has one win in seven starts this season with a victory at the Meadowlands. Pueblo Blue Chip (American Ideal), the 9-2 third choice in the second division, has NYSS wins at Saratoga and Yonkers for owners Blue Chip Bloodstock Inc., Menary Racing Inc. and Michael Guerriero.

The third division features 2-1 morning line favourite Kimberlee (Jim Marohn Jr.) racing for trainer Åke Svanstedt and owners Knutsson Trotting Inc. and Asa Sjöberg. The Rock N Roll Heaven filly is five-for-10 in 2018. The second choice at 3-1 is Jewels Forreal (Matt Kakaley), who races for the Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC while trained by Ron Burke. Jewels Forreal, a daughter of So Surreal, has two win this season and five in her career.

The 10-race card on Thursday (July 12) starts at 6:10 p.m.
